Three Day Rental: A Horror Themed Fic Exchange

Three Day Rental is a horror themed flash exchange for fanfic where prompts are made using horror movies as freeform tags. Matching is on fandom and relationship. Each writer creates something for their recipient inspired by the plot, themes, or tone of the movie given as a freeform tag. Participants sign up to produce a story of 300+ words.

For example, if you wanted a drama about investigating a serial killer you could use the tag Zodiac. For a haunted house drama you could say The Conjuring or for a dark romance with incestuous undertones use Crimson Peak. To just take a shot in the absolute dark there's always Eraserhead. The tag is to be taken as an inspiration, the work does not have to be a crossover, fusion, or retelling of the film.

All deadlines are 11:50pm EST
Nominations & signups open: Monday April 27
Nominations & signups close: Friday May 1
Assignments will go out ASAP
Deadline and story reveals: Tuesday May 5*
Author reveals: Friday May 8

*There will be a one hour delay between the time the works are due and them being revealed.
